Are you ok?

Tyler and I retired to the Quin-Zee about 8:00pm. I like to go to bed early on Sunday nights. I need to try and catch up on my sleep when I can. I bought a couple of lightweight sleeping bags last summer for our 3 day 2 night backpacking trek to Notch Lake. I bought a 20 degree down sleeping bag and a 32 degree synthetic bag. They both worked great! Tyler complained the next morning that he got to hot. I guess that snow is a really good insulator after all.

I was awoken at 1:30am to the sound of "Brent, Brent, Brent, are you ok?" I wasn't sure what was going on, but apparently Shantell had a nightmare that the Quin-Zee had collapsed. I'm not sure why she had to wake me, as a visual inspection of the Quin-Zee showed that the roof hadn't collapsed. I said that we were fine and tried to drift back to sleep. I couldn't. I was torn between staying outside and sleeping, or going inside to calm Shantell's fear. Nevertheless, I decided to ease Shantell's fears and we went inside to finish out the night.

Sleeping in the Quin-Zee was awesome. It brought back a flood of childhood memories of camping in the snow. I also used to spend a couple nights each winter sleeping in some sort of snow fort or cave that I built in the backyard. Its funny how I as a parent like to live out my childhood memories with my kids.
